EMBRACING TRANSITIONS

3 LESSIONS I HAVE LEARNED

1. TRUST THE PROCESS

Change never happens inside a box. When we are in this space of in between, when we are yearning for change, start moving - start moving away from what you know, leave your comfort zone and start exploring – and it is ok to not know, trust your intuition – start playing, experimenting, in short get messy! It is about surrendering, letting go of the familiar, of the need for control, getting curious about what emerges from the unknown, being open to whatever comes your way, giving space to God to intervene, trusting that things will eventually fall into place.

As humans, it is normal that our need for control is constantly present – it is almost essential to our survival - to have a sense of certainty, understanding how things work, being able to predict is what keeps us sane and functioning. What COVID has taught us is truly that control is an illusion. Who knows what will happen tomorrow?

2. YOU ARE NEVER MEANT TO JOURNEY ALONE

Get support, seek professional help (professional coaches, psychologist, therapist…) or people that you trust, find people that are going through similar things or have gone through times of transition, that will help you somewhat see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was held back by shame, the courage that I needed to seek for help would have accelerated my growth and healing journey. Oh well, don't we all learn the hard way? ;)

3. LIFE'S JOURNEY IS SIMPLY A LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Pay attention to the learning that comes out from what you did, what you did not do, what makes your heart sing and what shatters your soul. Know that these times of transition are precious – please make the most of it, use this time wisely because you won’t get it back – or if you do, it will be under another form or shape – use this time wisely, learn as much as you can even though it's painful and uncomfortable. Transformation is waiting for you, this will set you up to launch into your destiny for the next few decades to come.
